Position: Facilities Technician II

Location: Madison, WI

Duration: 4+ Months (W2 ONLY)

Job Description:

Please do not include resumes that do not have Conveyor or system automation experience.


Why is this resource needed?:

-This resource is being brought in to help with preventative maintenance of new automation equipment in the Fulfillment center.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

-Checking various components of the system for loose bolts/odors

-Replacing a belt on the conveyor

-Responding to Trouble tickets

-Listening for issues

-Dealing with conveyor belt malfunctions

-Managing heating and cooling malfunctions

-Flooding issues

What are we looking for?

Top 3 Skills:

1. Automation systems experience:

-Vast experience in skill with mechanical and electrical background; skilled maintenance mechanic;

-At least 3 years of experience needed; any trade experience or mechanical and electrical work experience.

2. Someone who can work independently, creative problem solver

3. Great written and verbal communication

Nice to Have:

-Someone who has had experience working in several facilities and can speak to their experience.

Services to be performed:

- Perform planned and unplanned maintenance to conveyor & warehouse automation systems, minimizing/eliminating equipment downtime.

- Perform a variety of work including but not limited to carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting & general handyman tasks.

- Assist with projects as needed to support business needs including furniture re-configurations, racking installations, etc...

- Interact with site customers and peers involving maintenance and other site matters.

Required skills:

- 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or distribution center environment.

- Strong knowledge and experience conducting PM's and repairs on conveyor systems and related warehouse automation equipment.

- Strong mechanical knowledge. Able to easily change parts and do minor rebuilding of components.

- Skilled in basic blueprint reading.

- Flexibility to respond to after-hours emergencies, to start early &/or stay late, including occasional weekend projects.

- Able to effectively communicate (written & verbally) with peers, management, contractors & vendors at all levels of the business.

- Computer skills including Windows systems & Microsoft office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc)

- Basic mathematical skills.

- Able to complete projects with little to no direction.

- Detail-oriented, customer centric & self-directed to manage & prioritize multiple simultaneous projects & activities.

Preferred skills:

- Formal Maintenance Mechanic training or trade school degree.

- Basic understanding of commercial electrical, plumbing, HVAC & fire systems.

- Intermediate electrical knowledge. Able to troubleshoot AC/DC circuit issues to include relays, etc
