NAVAL ARCHITECT (Must Be A US Citizen)

Expert Staffing (713) 856-7132 is currently seeking an experienced Naval Architect for one of their Fortune 500 clients located in Houston Texas.

Job Requirements:
The Naval Architect (NA) is responsible for floater concept development, preliminary sizing, global performance, and positioning (mooring/tendon) design and analyses of various types of floating structures for oil and gas production through interfacing with other engineering disciplines of the group as the need arises.

The NA is also responsible for performing and/or coordinating floater concept maturation, as well as all project work related to the Naval Architectural discipline within all phases up to and including detail engineering. This will require the execution and guidance of engineering analyses using industry accepted performance prediction tools for global performance and positioning (mooring/tendon) system of the floater, as well as responsibility for all the model testing (wave, wind, current, operations).

Specific tasks include:
o Develop conceptual design and preliminary sizing of floating systems
o Focus on semi-submersibles with a further growth within FPSO and Dry tree solutions is expected
o Perform global performance analyses of the above mentioned floating systems
o The analyses include hydrostatic stability and hydrodynamics (loads and motion responses)
o Perform stability calculations
o Perform floating structure mooring/tendon analyses and design of mooring/tendon systems
o Perform marine transportation, installation and operability analyses
o Coordinate and supervise scale model tests of floating systems in model basin and wind tunnel as appropriate
o Analyze test results and validate/correlate with global loading/performance predictions
o Develop detail design for the selected concepts of the floating structures
o Ensure that all works meet company's quality requirements and are in accordance with the project's quality manual.
