Expert Staffing (713)856-7132 is currently seeking a Principal Rotating Equipment Engineer for their Fortune 500 client located in Houston, Texas.

Duties Include:

Functions as Lead Engineer and/or Consultant on Major Projects
Organizes work to comply with project requirements and coordinates with other departments
Prepares material requisitions and technical input to subcontract packages
Provides overall supervision; Organizes work to comply with project requirements
Prepares and updates the Department’s Design Basis for a Project
Prepares material requisitions and technical input to subcontract packages
Analyzes and approves EA/QAs; fully responsible for the technical work and conformance with job requirements
Maintains a copy of the relevant sections of the project estimate and generates change notices
Assigns all engineering work including checking of calculations; reviews engineering work product
Checks vendor drawings for conformity with design requirements
Reviews other disciplines and vendor print inter-squad drawings
Reviews and helps updated deliverables schedule; makes forecasts
Assigns engineer to review shop drawings; particularly with respect to connection design
Makes man hour forecasts; Keeps Manager informed of any changes in staffing requirements
Saves original calculations for Department files
Develops/updates standard specifications and design standards.
Experience Requirements:
Minimum 15 years in the application, purchase and/or acceptance of axial, centrifugal, reciprocating, and rotary compressor and pump equipment
Working knowledge of API-610 through API-618 and related specifications
Understanding of general thermodynamic and mechanical principles
Diligent worker who interfaces well with co-workers, clients, consultants and vendors
Knowledge of relevant ASME, API, and similar industry codes preferred
Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering
Masters preferred
P.E. Registration preferred
