Qualifications and Experience
·Experience as an Electromagnetic Test Engineer familiar in the use of Antenna and/or EMC Test Ranges is desired, as is experience with measurement of the dielectric properties and reflective properties of materials.
·The candidate should have both analytical skills as well as “hands on” practical skills required for product design and development, being able to participate in product development from concept to qualification testing to production.
·Knowledge of general material properties and dielectric properties of materials is desired. Previous experience designing RF absorber products for use in anechoic chambers is a plus, as is absorber layout capability for antenna measurement and EMC chambers.
·An ability to operate test equipment such as a vector network analyzer, run automated data acquisition software, and interpret measurement results is a desired skill to assist in product development, as well as to assist in maintaining production quality.
·Experience with electromagnetic and propagation modeling software is a plus. The candidate will work with engineers from other divisions on anechoic facility designs.
·Experience or knowledge in antenna measurement techniques, particularly near-field antenna measurements, is a plus.
·Experience with Solid Works and or Auto Cad is helpful.
·A Masters Degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or Physics is required.
·Must be a US citizen and have ability to attain classified clearances.
·Must be able to travel on a limited basis worldwide.
Duties and Responsibilities (this is a guideline to help evaluate the position, additional duties as required)
Work with management and outside experts to design RF absorber products, chamber layouts and analyze chamber performance results for product improvement.
Conduct design reviews with cross functional teams at various points throughout the design, build, install and test process.
Revise existing design materials and establish an updated Internal Design Guide that ensures consistency and uniformity across the company’s product line.
Support antenna measurement system designs as required.
Work with technical support personnel to produce drawings for internal and external use in a timely and accurate manner.
Partner with the Process Development Team and Manufacturing to ensure new products are “designed for manufacturability” and existing designs are reviewed to improve yield rates, reduce defects and ensure best reliability for the customer.
Provide input to the Process Development Team to aid in their establishing a uniform process validation methodology/procedure.
