Expert Staffing (713)856-7132 is currently seeking a Quality & Continuous Improvement Manager with a BS or MS in Chemistry for their Freeport client.

JOB SUMMARY
Ensure internal and external quality assurance standards are met for and to drive plant continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean, Six Sigma, SPC, ISO, etc.

Duties will be discharged in a manner consistent with the requirements of ISO-9002, 14001, and 18001 as reflected in the quality policies and procedures of our client company.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Develop, implement and direct the quality assurance and formal continuous improvement process.
2. Serve as management representative, responsible for implementation and maintenance of the requirements for the ISO-9002 quality standard.
3. Supervise the Analytical Services Department.
4. Assess the skills and capabilities of Analytical Services members and implement development plans that will improve these skills.
5. Serve on improvement, technical and study teams as appropriate.
6. Interact with customers on complaints, quality issues or other questions regarding product quality, specifications or additional analytical results.
7. Ensure a safe work environment for the analytical services team by requiring procedures that are designed to eliminate unsafe acts.
8. Work with purchasing to maintain a vendor certification program.
9. Coordinate quality matters with process engineering, production, and sales/service.
10. Modify QA procedures and develop alternate methods
11. Review and report analytical data on a daily basis
12. Sign Certificates of Analysis for customer shipments

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
1. MS degree in Chemistry or Quality Assurance is preferred; minimum of BS degree in Chemistry or Quality Assurance is required.
2. Five to 10 years experience in the chemical/analytical field.
3. Form a process improvement experience in Lean, Six Sigma, SPC, and ISO.

Internal: Marketing, Sales and Technology personnel
