Chief Operating Officer

The COO is responsible for the management, direction, and coordination of the Practice’s clinical and operational activities (except those involving the practice of medicine) for the purpose of attaining the goals and objectives set forth by the CEO. The COO will conduct the clinical and operational affairs of the Practice within the limits of his/her authority as set forth by this job description and the policies established by the CEO.
• Monthly presentation to the Executive Committee on operational issues and initiatives.
• Quarterly presentation to the Shareholders on operational issues and initiatives.

CRITICAL CHALLENGES AND INITIATIVES FOR INCUMBENT
• Improve all aspects of the Practice’s clinical and operational processes.
Provide leadership to the Practice’s clinical and operational employees to maintain high levels of productivity and employee satisfaction

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Highly developed clinical and operational leadership and management skills.
• The ability to effectively communicate with physicians and staff.
• Professional presentation skills.
• The ability to manage time, priorities and resources effectively in an exceedingly fast paced environment.
QUALIFICATIONS: Ten or more years of progressively responsible experience in a multi-physician medical/surgical practice is required.
EDUCATION: Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor's degree in business administration, personnel administration, or equivalent is required. Or clinical education/experience complimented by business administration education/experience. Master's degree in health or business administration is preferred.
