Position OverviewAs Quality Engineering Director you will execute, build, maintain, and support the processes for hiring, training and retention of Quality Engineering personnel on full-time/part-time and contract basis. You will also establish and maintain quality engineering protocols for internally developed products that equal or exceed commercially acceptable standards for all our clients products. Ensure high performance testing is implemented company wide and on a product level to ensure product salability, compatibility, and reliability for all products. This is a hands-on testing leadership position.The Quality Engineering Director is also responsible for managing and hiring testing staff, supervising product test plans, requisitioning hardware, working with external testing and development vendors and working with various production staff in coordination of testing cycles and focus testing. Position Responsibilities* Supervise personnel on a daily basis. Duties include overseeing product submissions into QE, overseeing testing assignments, monitoring and mentoring contract relationships, and providing adequate and timely reporting for all test metrics. * Author and deliver annual QE Tester/Analyst reviews. * Maintaining efficient, constructive, and professional relationships with various internal / external departments and/or companies that QE works with. * Remain in constant communication with QE testers providing relevant updates as to the day-to-day operations of the department. * Ensure effective coverage of all product submissions, and proactively participate to budget allotted time provided QE for test cycles. * Assist with overall departmental budget planning, and forecasting of personnel hiring/contracting trends based on historical data. * Contribute analysis of testing environments, and hardware necessary to perform fundamental QE processes. Streamline procedures and methodologies as required. Skills: Required Skills* The successful candidate will possess 3+ years of experience as a Quality Engineering Manager within the financial software field, with additional software QE experience preferred. Strong people skills are a must. Work history must show ability to work with a wide variety of skill sets and personalities, ranging from QE employees to other department heads and various outside contacts.* The ability to ensure that the QE processes are carried out effectively and efficiently on a daily basis, while adhering to, and enforcing product requirements and documented pre-release protocols. * Significant Real Estate and (or) financial reporting related knowledge, including testing procedures, SDLC, and QE departmental processes. * The ability to review departmental and project based objectives, and translate them into detailed tasks which are scrutinized and then acted on. The ability to track tasks from conception to implementation is vital. * An undergraduate degree in Business, Finance or Computer Science.Position Preferences* Experience with Off Shore or Near Shore contract relationships strongly preferred.* A comprehensive understanding of various application platforms is highly beneficial. * Knowledge of software internationalization issues is a plus.* Experience with Real Estate software a plus.* CMMI or Six Sigma experience or exposure is a plus* ASQ certification is a plus.
