Background Required:

Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
5+ years experience in construction/heavy industrial machinary design.
2+ years experience in a similar technical leadership role for SSL's
Extensive knowledge of Skid Steer Loader designs, features and applications for world-wide markets.
Proficient with computer applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc).
Experience of Pro-E, CAD, Widfire 2 design.
Experienced in hydraulics design familiar with mobile construction equipment hydraulic systems, particularly hydrostatic drives, variable flow pumps and motors, pilot joystick controls, hose routing, fittings. Experience with BHL's and/or SSL's. Experience with BOM Release, SAP, root cause analysis and cost targets.

Responsibilities of Position:

Lead the design team and coordinate all engineering activities associated with new product development of SSL's and CTL's.
Guide the team to produce the most cost-effective designs and problem countermeasures; schedule work and engineers' assignments to meet agreed completion dates and technical specifications; report engineering progress and status at the project meetings; assist in the definition of the machine specifications.
Work closely with all departments to develop the specifications and customer requirements for future models.
Develop project budgets and timings with the Engineering Director, as part of the total departmental budget creation.
Visit Customer sites, plants, and vendors to assist with the development of custom products and attachments that meet customer requirements and increase machine sales.
Mentor team members to develop the expertise and efficiency of the department.
Assist with resolution of current production problems, both internally and in the field, as required
Perform other duties as assigned.
