Ujjivan provides financial services to the economically active poor. We work in semi-urban Karnataka, Delhi and Kolkata. We are an ambitious and fast-growing organization. We started in 2004 and now have 13 branches in Bangalore and have expanded to Delhi & Kolkata too. The current plan is to expand nationally in both urban and rural areas making sure to cover a significant number of poor customers i.e. over half a million by the 6th year of operation.

As part of this growth plan, we require a business leader to build the organization in South India. One who has experience in building and managing a business, with strong execution and problem solving skills.

The primary responsibilities are:

- Manage & build a unique Micro Finance Institution in South India focused primarily on urban & semi-urban poor following the Grameen & Individual lending methodologies.

- Directly responsible for the entire business especially focused on the field operations which includes acquiring & retaining customers; quality of the credit; & quality of the service.

- Managing a business as a whole, strong execution skills, a business builder & problem solver, hands on manager at the field level, and strong in people management

Education: A professional with post-graduate degree or preferably an MBA. Proficient in MS Office or equivalent.
Experience: 5-10 years of experience in a managing a MFI or a large division of the MFI business.
Language: Fluent in Kannada, Tamil & English.
Special Attributes: Creative & ability to work independently; Motivator & Strong inter-personal skills; Excellent Communicator; Hands-on-Manager, Team Leader; and High Energy levels. Passion to work in the social sector.

This position will be based out of Bangalore and reports to the CEO. Compensation will be based on experience & qualification and market competitive in the development sector.
