As a Psychiatrist with the U.S. Department of State, you'll live and work overseas as an essential member of the medical staff at one of 265 American embassies or consulates worldwide. Traveling to several countries throughout a specific geographic region, you'll be responsible for providing mental healthcare services to U.S. diplomats and their families, intervening in crises involving terrorism, unrest, or disaster, working with local healthcare officials to evaluate facilities; and preparing plans to deal with threats to the health and safety of our employees.
