*The Operability Team is responsible for leading integration of the steam turbine into the operating conditions of the overall power plant.

*Technical requirements are developed for component design groups internally, to ensure a robust product, and also to external customers to create an optimal overall power cycle. Emphasis is placed on analysis of transient conditions; data from remote monitoring of units in service is used to validate results.

*The Operability Team also incorporates special test instrumentation into turbines to validate new equipment designs, specifies operational instrumentation requirements, and calculates thrust loads developed during various operating conditions.

*Travel in this position is infrequent.

Qualifications

*BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or other Engineering degree with substantial Mechanical Design Experience.

*Minimum of 10 years of engineering experience.

*Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Design Engineering position.

*Advanced engineering degree.

*Previous turbo machinery design experience.

*Experience with statistical design methods.

*Power Plant design, operation, installation/maintenance experience.

*Six Sigma Green Belt or higher certification (GE employees only).

*Demonstrated ability to lead engineering team efforts.
