Solar inverter systems engineer is responsible for transition of solar inverter technology from New Technology Introduction (NTI), through New Product Introduction (NPI), and into Requisition phases.

Essential Responsibilities

Design ownership of complex systems or component design.

Lead projects with broad scope and high impact to the business.

Executes the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles.

Recommend approach to meet the technical and program requirements.

Lead or participate on cross-functional teams to solve technical problems.

Provide technical guidance to others.

Ensure new products comply with industry standards, UL, IEC, other certifications, and meet GE internal guidelines for safety and reliability.

Work with patent counsel to determine acceptable design opportunities and create new intellectual property.

Effectively communicate and document results for internal and external customers.
Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or similar technology field from an accredited institution.

At least 5 years electric power conversion system design experience.

Minimum of 1 year experience with CAD software and familiarity with ANSI drafting standards.

Six Sigma Green Belt certification (GE Employees only).

At least 2 years of relevant Phovoltaic industry experience.
