* Perform functions to apply engineering fundamentals to engineering design.

* Select and recommend procedures in design and prepare preliminary designs for engineering approval.

* Work independently on design projects in support of Design Engineering and coordinate drafting design efforts on projects.

* Work with other designers and engineers to identify existing products that can be modified to meet specifications and ensure the modifications are feasible and cost-effective.

* Coordinate with manufacturing in determining the acceptability of manufacturing variance in relation to design specifications.

* Interface with customers to discuss design, specification, sales order requirements and field installation procedures.

* Assist in conceptual design in response to customer specifications.

* Provide design layout and illustrations that are sufficiently accurate to provide a basis for detailed design once an order is received.

* Must be available and willing to travel to such locations as the employer determines necessary or desirable to meet its business needs.

* Perform other related duties as assigned or indicated by responsibilities.
Qualifications

* High school graduate with college level courses.

* Minimum three years producing designs that perform intended functions and meet manufacturing requirements.

Desired

* Working knowledge of CAD systems and Pro E preferred in oilfield products.

* Exhibit a high degree of expertise in engineering fundamentals and industry standards.

* Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally.

* Associated technical degree preferred.
