Develops practical and innovative ways to identify and meet goals. Is responsible for work that is less defined in scope and has the understanding and experience to execute business objectives. This role has the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals.

* Execute with some guidance the analysis/evaluation of assigned projects that meet business standards, practices and procedures and the product/program requirements.

* Provide technical leadership to other personnel assigned to support the effort on assigned projects and/or tasks; mentors others in the organization.

* Document technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures.

* Monitor and communicate project status, business issues and significant developments.

* Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews.
Qualifications

* Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science.

* At least 3 additional years of experience in an engineering field.

Desired

* BS in Aeronautical, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science

* Minimum 4 years technology development experience in geometry modeling.

* Minimum 2 years UG modeling/ UG Open programming experience.

* Extremely strong software development skills in FORTRAN, C/C++, Perl, Tcl, Windows O/S, and parallel processing.

* Working understanding of object modeling techniques.

* Ability to work in a global software development environment (source code control/code reconciliation).

* Demonstrated experience in development geometry software. development that improves the functionality of the design system.

* XML Expertise, XFORMS.

* Experience with non-uniform rational Bsplines (NURBS).

* Experience with turbomachinery.

* UG, Knowledge Fusion experience.

* Experience in client server technology.

* Good working knowledge of the Aviation, Energy, and Oil and Gas products.
General

Essential Functions (Responsibilities):

* Work in the Turbomachinery Design System group of the Engineering Tools CoE with particular emphasis on geometry tool development for aerodynamic design.

* Responsible for the development, implementation, maintenance, documentation, and training of geometry design tools for axial and radial turbomachinery.

* Focal point and end-user support for engineering design groups across GE Infrastructure, ensuring the productive and robust use of the tools.

* Tool validation ensuring customer CTQ's.

*Strong collaboration with GRC and other Component Modeling and Tools CoE groups.

* Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with cross-functional experience preferred.

* Technological proficiency, including relevant engineering tools.

* Additional experience designing and implementing new products using the NPI process is preferred.

* An understanding of Six Sigma tools to make data-based recommendations and decisions.
