Position Overview: For graduates who wish to embark on a career with practical applications for their skills in problem solving and statistical analysis, the actuarial analyst position is an ideal choice. An actuarial analyst uses his or her mathematical background and critical thinking skills to formulate benefit and pension plans. At Watson Wyatt, they will work in a close-knit and supportive team environment and will have the opportunity to interact directly with the clients, helping to put their plans into effect. Accepted applicants will be eligible for a comprehensive exam study program, including paid study hours and exam coaching to assist them in attaining the accredited designation of Actuary. Responsibilities:
Design and administrate pension plans
Value annual pensions and/or post-retirement medical plans
Practice forecasting and help carry out investment studies
Perform asset/liability modeling
S olve retirement-related client issues
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, actuarial science, or related degree Mathematical aptitude, solid decision-making capabilities, and strong analytical skills Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment Attention to detail and commitment to task Strong computer skills Strong communication skills Ability to pass actuarial exams
