The Manager, Finance is responsible for the overall financial operations of one or more clients/capabilities. Specific duties include developing forecasts, developing and tracking budgets, mentoring staff, monthly financial reviews, cash flow projections and supervision of account billing and receivables. The Manager is required to highlight key issues and minimize exposure items that may impact profitability or negative cash flow. The Manager position will also be involved in critical process improvement projects and ad hoc analysis in support of Client and Regional Finance requests.
Essential Job Functions
> Partner with client teams/regional staff and develop relationships with Relationship Managers/General Managers to influence productive and accurate client/regional financial management
> Lead client/region team meetings in management of financial metrics
o Resolve issues, conflict and areas of potential exposure
o Use good business judgment to resolve financial management decisions
o Formulate a high level "big picture" point of view
o Provide thoughtful recommendations to solve business issues and implement solutions
o Represent Capability appropriately
> Supervise financial management functions that reside with staff
> Manage and develop staff into productive team members utilizing skills and tools available to succeed
> Hone delegation and organizational skills to invoke efficiencies and provide growth opportunities for staff and self
> Review and analyze key financial metrics:
o Understand profitability drivers
o Identify and proactively address and resolve issues
o Take a business interest in managing an improved contribution margin, DSO, EBITDA and other metrics
> Manage forecast for assigned clients/regions:
o Components - committed, upside, risk, percent likelihood weightings
o Process - data accumulation, relate client budgets/deliverables to the forecast, apply reasonability and logic (Client Finance only)
o Region / Capability P&L
> Proactively question processes and procedures and implement change to gain efficiencies and streamline workflows
> Review journal entries for accuracy and appropriateness; release journal entries as needed
> Ensure complete, accurate (footing) and properly formatted documents prior to manager review
> Hone influencing and persuasive skills to become a trusted partner
> Evaluate requests to determine the most effective and efficient solution, and how it impacts the future financial management of the client/region
> Ability to explain and translate financial reports/documents to team members
> Show judgment on when to elevate issues/requests and when to resolve independently
> Prioritize and streamline tasks for self and staff to ensure accuracy and efficiencies
> Suggest process improvements and coordinate the implementation to benefit Capability
> Appropriately represent and encourage growth within Capability
> Leverage Capability resources to resolve issues
Skills and Experience
Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business
Masters Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business preferred but not required
Six - seven years of professional experience in a Finance or Accounting role

> Advanced knowledge and proficiency of MS Office, Word, Excel (including Pivot Tables) and financial reporting systems (Lawson, Business Objects, Crystal, Hyperion Pillar)
