Minimum Education: None Jobcode: 58303418 Email this job to yourself or to a friend Click Here to Apply Online The Vice President of Fund Development is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the Fund Development Department; will provide visionary and operational leadership to the department; oversee various areas of responsibilities and activities in fund and business development; responsible for sustaining gifts program, annual giving plan and a comprehensive strategic long range gift plan; works with the fund development staff and the Board of Trustees to develop fundraising objectives; will be responsible for directing all aspects of the organization's fund development policies, objectives, and initiatives.
* Bachelor's Degree from an accredited College or University in public health, health care related field, marketing, business management or other related field. Master's Degree in related field preferred. * Minimum seven (7) years of combined leadership and direct fund-raising management experience in a not-for-profit organization or related area. * Experience in fundraising leadership with emphasis on cultivating and soliciting major individual gifts. * Experience with Board of Trustee fundraising engagement. * Experience with major donor prospects. * Experience with business plan development and budget preparation. * Experience supervising personnel. * Knowledge of community resources and funding sources. * Knowledge of principles and processes involved in fundraising and organizational planning, coordination, and execution. This includes strategic planning, resource allocation, modeling leadership techniques and production methods. * Knowledge of an ability to use Microsoft Office software, i.e., WORD, Excel, Power Point. * Ability to solicit gifts and understand the needs and interests of major donors in order to develop relationships between them ant The Health Trust. * Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with donors, volunteers, development staff and professional advisors. * Ability to think creatively and strategically to effectively mediate and negotiate with individuals and groups internally and externally. * Ability to articulate the case for support so that individuals connect with the vision, mission, and goals of The Health Trust. * Advanced strategy and planning ability for high level planning, analyzing and problem solving. * Strong leadership, strategic planning and project management skills. * Excellent written, communication and interpersonal communication skills and ability to build and manage relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders. * Excellent presentation, negotiation and public speaking skills. * Must be available to work some evenings and weekends. * Must have automobile available for daily use, a valid California Driver's License and car insurance as required. * Must be willing to travel as The Health Trust's business requires. * Employment background screening required.
