Job Descriptions
•Provide scientific leadership focused on epigenetics across the Research organization
•Provide scientific and drug hunting leadership, mentoring and professional development for associate scientists within an Epigenetics team
•Provide cutting edge integration of new areas of biology associated with epigenetic regulation, e.g. miRNA, stem cells
•Identify and validate targets and pathways involved in epigenetic regulation
•Apply modern cell and molecular biology technologies to epigenetic drug discovery
•Collaborate with Systems Biology and Computational scientists to identify new therapeutic targets
•Utilize in vivo modeling to establish linkage between biological targets and a disease phenotype
•Design relevant primary and secondary assays for compound screening
•Establish and leverage internal and external networks to accelerate drug discovery and development efforts
•Participate in the creation of a Fully Integrated Pharmaceutical Network (FIPNET)
•Oversee recruiting and staffing activities

Requirements
•Minimum of 7 years of experience; with a minimum of 3 years pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry experience or academic track record in epigenetic research
•Expertise in pathways relevant to chromatin modification
•Expertise in technologies to analyze epigenetic modifications (histone/DNA modifications, CHIP-on-chip analysis)
.Familiarity with epigenetic enzyme classes (HDAC, HAT, methyltransferase and demethylase)
•Familiarity with adult stem cells/cancer stem cells and their epigenetic regulation
•Established external scientific network in epigenetic research
•Demonstrated ability to provide technical and administrative leadership across a multidisciplinary team
•Familiarity with bioinformatics approaches to drug discovery
•Ability to manage a portfolio of projects and activities
•Proven ability to work collaboratively
•Ability to work effectively across multiple time zones
•Strong publication record
