The associate in this position uses advanced technical knowledge on Group Life Products to research and resolve complaints from various sources including executive office, media, DOI, policyholders, and their representatives.
Coordinates specific case data and rationale with contacts from involved offices/departments.
The incumbent drafts response letters and it is critical they have the business unit skills and familiarity with business unit procedures to enable accurate ad hoc or standard responses to formal service complaints.
May assist offices/departments with complaint resolution by providing guidance and consistency on detailed and difficult casework.
Has a strong command of region and state-specific laws and requirements.
Incumbent may be encouraged to obtain licensing, as business need dictates.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills are required as the incumbent may often be called upon to work with senior/executive leadership or management of other business units in cases involving the potential of the reversal of company decision, the way a case is/was investigated, and the resolution offered.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
·Prior formal service complaint handling experience
·Strong sense of urgency and the ability to respond quickly to changing needs and priorities.
·Excellent verbal and written communication skills
·Excellent analytical skills and negotiation skills
·Extensive knowledge of and a level of comfort with functions of the Operational Business Unit within GI. Additional insurance knowledge also a plus.
·Must be customer focused and service oriented
·Proficient in Microsoft Word and knowledge of Excel
·Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple tasks; strong time management skills
