Job Description:
• Plan and execute scientific projects with specific expertise related to consumer care manufacturing to develop or improve materials, products, and/or processes with emphasis on all aspects of nutritional products.
• Provide technical support and information by developing and introducing comprehensive programs. This involves planning, organizing, and presenting major technical promotions.
• Design and organize projects to adapt product applications, coordinate multi-faceted application programs or processes, resolve application problems involving the total manufacturing/packaging process with specific emphasis on nutritional products.
• Work with Product Development and International Technology Center
to determine which market innovations can be implemented in this location. Participate in long range business analyses and planning as needed.
• Participate in formulating and recommending concrete projects including specific technical objectives in support of the division’s goals.
• Make decisions in technical matters involved with the initiation and implementation of projects in the manufacturing/packaging areas with a defined focus on nutritional formulation development expertise.
• Effectively communicate, explain, and recommend to subordinates, colleagues, and management the results of designs, studies, and/or projects in terms of new techniques or approaches for introducing/troubleshooting technologies incorporated into the operations.
• Troubleshoot production problems, identify the problem and recommend solutions.
• Carry-out scale-up of new products. Act as the interface between Product Development, Production and Quality Assurance.
• Develop Validation/Qualification protocols; Conduct Validation and issue Validation reports.
• Develop new and improved manufacturing processes for current products (to improve product quality, output and generate cost savings).

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
• Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline with 6 + years of nutritional product development experience or MS in a scientific discipline with 4+ years of proven experience noted above; or Ph.D. in a scientific discipline with 2+ years experience noted above.
• Must have an excellent understanding of and experience with the unit operations associated with the manufacture of solid nutritional dosage forms.
• Demonstrated ability to explain and recommend to all levels of personnel the results of projects in terms of new techniques or approaches for the purpose of keeping them informed and motivating them to incorporate these into related work.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and work independently in a changing environment.
• Demonstrated competencies required: quality and customer satisfaction, problem solving, practical judgement, initiative/assertiveness, job knowledge, leadership,
planning/organizing, attention to detail, sense of urgency/timing, creativity/innovation, outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
• Personal computer skills, which include experience with Microsoft Office software required.
