Location : Seattle, WA

Rate : (Open/hr on W2 all inclusive)
Working hours : This is a 24hr/wk
Full Requirement
The Molecular Informatics department of the client seeks a Technical Instructor to provide training on internally developed software tools designed to meet bioinformatics needs of biologists working with genes, proteins, genomic data sets, and biological pathways. The trainer will learn and teach applications developed by the Molecular Informatics department, providing expertise on both integrated application workflows & scientific content.
Qualifications:
•Familiarity with concepts relating to genes, genomics, gene expression & pathways •MS in Bioinformatics, Biology, related area or equivalent experience.
•Experience with bioinformatics software tools such as the UCSC Genome Browser •Excellent oral & written communication skills
•Customer service orientation
•Ability to maintain poise under stress & respond quickly, logically, & patiently to questions/requests
•Training experience is desired
•Familiarity with Microsoft Windows, Outlook.
Responsibilities:
This is Technical Instructor, Molecular Informatics (Contract Position).
Ø Deliver integrated technical training to MRL researchers as part of a comprehensive approach to genomic and pathways analysis tools training. Training will fit both into a live format, requiring travel to client’s research sites, and an online format.
Ø Work with researchers to understand workflows supported by applications and scientific content available in these applications.
Ø Keep training current for the internal applications through coordination with the product managers.
Ø Track progress/success of training.
Ø Assist in testing of new software releases and provide feedback regarding functionality and usability.
Ø Develop, edit & and test new course material, including training examples and exercises and online help and documentation.
Ø Maintain knowledge necessary to be deemed a content expert on all products (e.g. reading, interaction with subject area experts within the company).
Ø Design, test, and modify multimedia presentations used in training .

Note : This is a 24hr/wk position (0.6 FTE). The actual work periods (eg 5 part time days vs. 3 full time days) are negotiable.
