Develop, create and maintain all the necessary consolidated financial reports, systems and analysis for Management and Legal Reporting. Direct and supervise staff in the preparation/compilation of these reporting requirements ensuring accuracy and compliance with all pertinent standards, policies, procedures and regulations.
DUTIES / ACTIVITIES: (list in order of importance)
- Responsible for coordination, preparation and review of the monthly, quarterly and yearly Corporate consolidation financial reporting process.
- Responsible for all financial reporting requirements necessary to meet quarterly and annual US GAAP and International Financial Reporting Standards ("IFRS") to the German parent company.
- Responsible for maintaining the SAP/BCS business consolidation system. .Act as main contact for overall supervision of the system. Work directly with consolidation staff and divisions on updates, modifications and account and profit center hierarchies.
- Responsible for the process and review necessary to link and upload quarterly and annual financial results from SAP/BCS consolidation system to the German parent company consolidation system.
- Responsible for the preparation, review and issuance of consolidated financial statements
- Assist in the coordination of the quarterly and annual audit by external auditors. Responsible for the preparation, compilation and review of all consolidated financial statements. work papers and divisional fluctuations.
- Responsible for Sarbanes - Oxley ('SOX") documentation as it relates to the corporate financial reporting process and systems. Will perform required risk reviews and asses SOX controls.
- Perform analysis on monthly financial information to include results of operations, cash flows and non-financial data. Identify trends, discrepancies and other anomalies and take the required action to address these.
- Assist in the development and implementation of improved financial reporting systems and techniques
that impact financial reporting.
- Provide direct supervision to staff members in the Consolidations and Reporting department. This includes but is not limited to:
o Provision of continual informal feedback throughout the year as well as formal feedback during the annual review process.
o Participating in the hiring, firing and disciplinary action process where applicable.
o Directing staff in the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing and reporting process
o Provide cross training of corporate staff.
- Perform special projects as directed by VP& Controller and Assistant Corporate Controller of Financial Reporting and other levels of management.
EDUCATION
- BA/BS degree in accounting/finance, CPA and or MBA preferred.
EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS
- 6 - 10 years of experience in a consolidation role for a company with multi-divisions and foreign affiliates required
- Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards ("IFRS") helpful.
- Extensive experience with multi-layered consolidation systems (i.e. SAP/SEM Business Consolidation systems ("BCS"), Hyperion)
- Extensive knowledge of all Microsoft products (i.e. Excel, Word, and Power Point)
- Should posses high degree of interpersonal, motivational and analytical ability.
