Performs financial and operational audits of Company's operations; monitors effectiveness of controls in existing financial systems; prepares reports of findings and formulates recommendations to management. Responsibilities for this position include: prepares schedules and runs reports for preliminary work necessary for Branch Reviews; assists in on-site branch reviews; follows up on audit confirmations for benefit plan audits, year-end audits, revenue and billing testing, and SISDAT payment testing; assists in reviews of various Home Office departments; prepares and secures signed confirmations to outside parties, including clients for Accounts Receivable balances to turn over to external auditor; assists and/or prepares schedules and reports needed by external auditor to complete preliminary and final year-end audit work; evaluates problems, researches and proposes solutions to Manager-Financial Controls; assists Senior Consultants and Director-Financial Controls on special projects directed by Business Units, Division Heads, and Home Office Department Heads; upholds the Crawford & Company Code of Business Conduct at all times; performs other duties or participates in special projects as requested.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Requires a B.S. in Finance or Accounting with preference for an Accounting degree.
Excellent understanding of all accounting processes.
Knowledge and skills required are: above average verbal and written communication skills for dealing with all levels of internal and external contacts; excellent time management skills and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines; strong analytical ability and judgment in order to read and interpret financial data; strong computer skills; attention to detail and organizational ability; ability to work on own or as part of a team, depending on circumstances; ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
