Compensation: $23.00 - $27.00 / Hour Minimum Education: Tech School Job Type: Full Time Jobcode: E501 Email this job to yourself or to a friend Click Here to Apply OnlineESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for performing aircraft line troubleshooting and work in acordance with the rules and regulations set forth by the FAA and Million Air Houston.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/TASKS:
Responsible for performing line avionics work specializing in navigation, radio, radar systems, and other electronic systems
2) Responsible for pitot static equipment and transponder calibrations
3) Responsible for electronic systems installations
4) Responsible for reading and interpreting wire schematics and blue prints and familiar with the applicable FAA regulations.
5) Must maintain a working knowledge of airworthiness standards and FAA regulations with the ability to find the needed information in various publications to establish standards and verify airworthiness of repairs, modifications and installations.6) Performs additional duties as assigned.
SKILLS REQUIRED: Minimum:
1) Language - the ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
2) Arithmetic - the ability to perform basic arithmetic functions of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
3) Color recognition - the ability to recognize colors and distinguish between yellow, red and green tags.
4) Physical - Possess acceptable vision with corrective lenses, have legible handwriting and be capable of lifting 30 + lbs.
5) Computer - be able to perform basic data entry and open and save files.
6) Vocabulary - be able to understand basic terminology used on a daily basis in the functional job area.Additional:
1) Troubleshooting - determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it
2) Installation - installing equipment, machines, wiring, or programs to meet specifications
3) Operation and Control - controlling operations of equipment or systems
4) Equipment Maintenance - performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed
5) Equipment Selection - determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job
6) Operations Monitoring - watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly
7) Quality Control Analysis - conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance
8) Must have the ability to exercise considerable initiative in taking prompt and decisive action to prevent or alleviate delays due to conflicts in scheduling, lack of materials or faulty processes.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRES:
3 years experience in the field of troubleshooting and repairing avionics systems most common to mid-size corporate aircraft, to include pitot static work and transponder calibrations.Prefer: 5+ years experience.
EDUCATION REQUIRED: High School Diploma or equivalent.Prefer: Avionics Degree
CERTIFICATES REQUIRED: FCC License
