Position Description Position is on the International Space Station (ISS) program in Huntsville, AL in the ISS Huntsville Projects organization. Candidate will have experience in leading, acting as liaison, and working effectively with all functional team members, including engineering disciplines, customer representatives, Manufacturing Operations, Quality, Finance, Scheduling, Procurement, and line management. Participates in or develops mechanisms for establishing, monitoring, and integrating all project elements and communications between those organizations. Candidate will assist in preparation of fairly complex proposals and technical change packages; CPES experience a strong plus. Candidate will evaluate and influence development of the proposal (e.g., statement of work, ground rules and assumptions, program schedules, etc.), and identify significant cost drivers and risks to enhance the estimate accuracy of those packages. Candidate will be expected to review proposal requirements (cost and schedule), generate basis of estimates and review impacts with management and support contract negotiations with customer. Upon Customer authorization to proceed, the candidate will be expected to develop project plans, direct all project phases through hardware and documentation delivery, and act as primary customer contact throughout. Uses trend, earned value and variance analyses and risk assessments to develop plans and recommend change. Negotiates project changes and incorporates changes into project control systems to maintain work statements, cost and schedule baselines. Transitions projects to customer for on-going support; performs project close-out and documents lessons learned. Works under minimal direction. Travel possible but infrequent.
