Position Description The Boeing Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD) Program is seeking an experienced electrical design engineer for the Systems Engineering, Integration and Test organization. Technical job duties include the design, documentation, fabrication, integration and checkout of electrical and/or electro-mechanical test equipment and test system configurations. Additional job duties include project leadership and mentoring. The group supports test activities for Huntsville, AL; Vandenberg Air-Force Base, CA; and Ft. Greely, AK activities. AutoCAD or UG experience a plus. Knowledge of Boeing Design Processes and Material Review Board certification is preferred. Resolves complex issues on critical programs related to architectural approaches, requirements, specifications and design. Leads technical aspect of proposal preparation. Identifies critical performance measures and develops processes for computing them. Leads activities in support of Supplier Management with make/buy recommendations and other technical services. Coordinates engineering support throughout the lifecycle of the product. Develops new concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements. Recommends and manages technology insertion. Works under consultative direction.
