About Us: Windows Mobile is a rapidly growing business and we're in action working on the key devices based on the Windows Mobile 6.0 Platform. Smartphones have a 12 month shelf life, so we're on "Internet time", adding customer-focused features to releases every 3-12 months in order to drive significant additional sales. Examples of recent and current features include: Shell and media user experience updates, faster and higher-fidelity browser, device performance improvements, Wifi power manager, Push-To-Talk, Unified Inbox/SMS/MMS, sending SMS over email, Speaker-phone, etc.

Role & Opportunity: Are you a developer looking for a new challenge? Does the idea of joining a team responsible for adding the most customer-demanded features excite you? Are you interested in taking on the autonomy and responsibility of adding the core platform improvements that make Windows Mobile sell? If yes, and you're a proactive, motivated, and self-driven developer with strong development skills and a track record for meeting deadlines and shipping products, then this is the team for you.

You will contribute to the end-to-end software stack of a mobile device, which includes the core Windows CE kernel and networking stack, Windows Mobile platform (phone, shell, sync, email, PIM, etc.) and other apps like mobile Windows Media Player and other corporate security and device management APIs. You will be the one getting the latest hardware prototypes from manufacturers before they're scheduled to hit store shelves and then you will own the changes to the Windows Mobile platform and applications needed to enable them. There is potential to work with handset manufacturers in order to ship devices.

This is a great opportunity for developers with strong technical fundamentals and a drive for results who are looking to get into mobile technologies, want to work on a team that is both growing and that values initiative and has a strong customer focus, and want to see the immediate impact of their work.

Qualifications:
* 4+ years of industry experience in software design (C++, Win32, Windows development)
* Completed college degree (preferably in computer science or related field; preferably a master's degree)
Helpful, but not required:
* experience with embedded device development (Windows Mobile WinCE, shell, inbox/PIM apps, internet explorer, phone applications, etc)
* experience with email protocols a plus (smtp, pop3, imap).
* experience with digital mobile telephony systems/protocols a plus as well (gsm, cdma)
The idea candidate will also need the ability to come up to speed with new code bases quickly, must have strong design, coding, and debugging skills and have ability to handle multiple areas. Good communication skills are a valuable asset.

Summary: We're a very agile, customer-facing team in a fast growing division with plenty of growth opportunities. If you are motivated in learning new mobile technologies, and have a passion for fast paced teams, this is the place for you.
