Posted: Apr 04, 2008 Responsibilities

*Responsible for working with the drafting team to package and develop the location of apparatus of all major components of the locomotive.

*Responsible for determining the best placement of components and be able to recognize the trade-offs which must happen between subsystems.

*Prepare and present information to the other engineering teams to review the location of apparatus and documentation using the design review process.

*Responsible for creating and reviewing interface control documents (subsystem interactions) for international locomotive programs and holding reviews with the various subsystem engineering groups to extract requirements.

*Responsibilities will also include reviewing the mechanical layout of the locomotive on an on-going basis to ensure interferences are discovered before the locomotive is built. *Ensure all electrical devices are solid modeled and electrically featured in the drafting software to enable virtual routing of the wire harnesses.

*Assist in manufacturing during the first unit build of the locomotive to solve assembly issues that arise.
Qualifications

*Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an accredited college.

*At least 3+ additional years of experience in an engineering position.

Desired

*Strong drive for meeting internal and external customer requirements.

*Ability to understand mechanical systems.

*Ability to work and communicate with various engineering teams.

*Has utilized electronic tools to develop CAD models or at least the ability to use tools to review and verify using 3d modeling.

*Locomotive mechanical systems experience.

*Strong oral and written communication skills.
