Embedded Control Design Engineer for key Locomotive Embedded Control Systems. Engineers in this subsection use state-of-the-art design/validation processes to produce control systems that meet robust performance and reliability goals. Design Engineers utilize control systems modeling, Six Sigma statistical tools/methodology and other advanced tools to complete projects. Responsible for defined work or projects with moderate complexity. Follows an individual work plan and meets day-to-day short-term objectives. Has the ability to resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning.
Essential Functions
Execute, with guidance from senior engineering resources, the analysis, design, test, or integration required to define and support assigned components, assemblies or systems that meet business standards and program/product requirements.
Prepare and present technical data to internal and external customers.
Document and communicate results of technical data generated.
Participate on teams assigned to address specific organizational initiatives.
Share information and promote open dialogue.
Prepare invention disclosures to protect the technology that provides a competitive advantage to the business. Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Engineering
Eligibility Requirements

Advanced technical degree
Willingness to work flexible/additional hours to complete job activities
Willingness to work on locomotives and/or field sites to troubleshoot and develop designs
