Position Description Perform electrical and power systems analysis, design verification and validation for Huntsville Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD) Weapon Systems Operations Support- Field Engineering & Facility Integration. Effective at applying the systems engineering process to tasks related to electrical power stability and load balance, electrical sub-system requirements definition and allocation, vendor design reviews, development of test requirements and system test procedures, assessment of system performance and test data evaluation, support to GMD site engineering staff and provide technical participation and direction in the resolution of non-conformances. The selected candidate will play a support role in Installation Checkout Reviews and participate in facility verification activities. Ability to develop and optimize engineering processes to eliminate potential single point failures and minimize electrical equipment and power system down times. Participate in resolving complex power system and facility reliability problems that require demonstrated experience and ingenuity. Assist and periodically lead the resolution of facility problems from Huntsville with occasional travel to GMD sites including possible Outside Continental Unites States (OCONUS) site development.

Education and/or Experience Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry and typically 9 to 13 years experience in an engineering classification or either a Master's degree with 7 to 11 years experience or a PhD degree with 4 to 8 years experience in an engineering classification. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
