Position Overview
The Business Development position is an entry to mid-level position appropriate for individuals graduating soon, or recent university graduates with 1 - 2 years' experience in the interactive industry. The position primarily involves developing prospective clients for Polar Design as well as participating in marketing and research activities as well.
In this position, you will identify new clients as well as strengthen relationships with existing ones using a variety of marketing and sales techniques. Initially you will work closely with Polar's sales and account management teams to develop opportunities and close sales, but as you become more comfortable in the role, you will have the opportunity to develop your own clients as well. In the process, you will acquire a range of skills and experience, working with a range of personalities in a professional setting.
Position responsibilities are as follows:
1. Develop and maintain interactive marketing assets, including online white papers, micro sites, blogs and other lead generation tools 2. Outbound calls to existing clients and prospective clients 3. Qualifying new and existing clients, 4. Determine client and potential client needs, and develop a plan to address them 5. Take ownership of select client relationships and advise them on products or service of benefit to them 6. Get to know clients' businesses and industries to effectively address their needs 7. Assist account management or sales professionals develop proposals 8. Keep track of business development activity with a customer relationship management (CRM) tool and time tracking tool 9. Participate in teams with account managers, sales engineers and senior sales professionals to help close significant projects

Requirements
Entry-level candidates that fit this position will typically have internship experience in interactive design, marketing, sales or advertising, with a related major. We also strongly encourage engineering majors to consider applying. Candidates with work experience should have client-facing experience, strong writing skills, and familiarity with interactive marketing and technology.
