In a dynamic product design environment, this position will be part of the Systems Engineering team that leads the development and design of electrical and mechanical accessory systems in support of aero derivative gas turbines.

Primary Focus:

* Generators, generator protection, voltage regulators, vibration detection, ground fault monitoring and line side/neutral cubicles.

Core Responsibilities:

* Provide technical leadership across product and system boundaries.

* Lead strategic technology planning activities that identify, develop and introduce innovative ideas across all power generation packages.

* Design ownership of assigned systems including related components ensuring that cost and technical performance is satisfied.

* Drive standardization/optimization across product lines

* Lead Value engineering assessments (technical capabilities vs. Voice of Customer).

* Assist in Manufacturability, Maintainability, Reliability and Availability evaluations.

* Work with RAM leader to drive customer issues into product designs

* Contribute to new and improved Design Practices.

* Impart acquired knowledge and experience to accelerate training/ development of less experienced engineers.

* Maintain a proactive relationship with cross-functional personnel to foster a boundaryless atmosphere between engineering, manufacturing and others.
Qualifications

* Electrical Engineering Degree or Equivalent.

* Minimum of 3 years design experience.

* GB certified (DMAIC or DFSS) for GE applicants.

Desired

* Familiarity with aero derivative package design, control, monitoring, operation and maintenance.

* Minimum of five years design engineering experience in the power or oil & gas industry.

* Familiarity with power, instrumentation and control design.

* Familiarity with NEMA, IEC, NEC, EU compliance (ATEX, EMC, Low Voltage) codes and their application to aero derivative package design.

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

* Demonstrated project management skills.

* Focus on long-term customer satisfaction.

* Self-starter with strong technical and leadership skills.

* Strong understanding of GE gas turbines and packages.
