SHIP REPAIR SPECIFICATION SUPERVISOR & ESTIMATOR

Location: Marinette, Wisconsin

Contract Position with Shipbuilding Industry.

The ship repair specification supervisor and estimator is responsible to prepare, repair specifications and conduct SWBS estimates and analyses for ship repair activities. He reviews plans and requirements to determine material quantity attributes (sq ft of areas or installed product, lengths for welded connection, lengths of pipe, quantity of items of equipment or outfit), and applies cost factors provided to him to establish assigned SWBS labor or material cost elements. He prepares assigned project SWBS element takeoffs and estimates. He assists in data input, documentation and organization of project bid and proposals. He inputs provided project estimate data into project "BIDSHELL" files. He sorts and organizes estimate data into established format and verifies data is complete and consise.

Qualifications:

The Ship Repair Specification Supervisor must:

have a minimum of 5-10 years experience with marine and vessel repair.
be able to utilize applicable Microsoft Office software (Excel and Word).
train in a full range of responsibilities and tasks that will continue throughout all levels within the department, and demonstrate a full understanding "journeyman" knowledge and "complete" skill capability. Completion of these steps will allow advancement to each progressive level.
