Murata Electronics North America, Inc., a leading international electronic component sales organization, is seeking an Automotive Sales Engineer for our Livonia, Michigan office.

The successful candidate will plan, organize, direct and control the account sales function for assigned automotive accounts to maximize Murata component print position, customer qualification and sales growth.

Job duties include but are not limited to:

- Establishing tactical action plans to attain sales growth by identifying products, product features, programs and prices needed by assigned accounts. Promote these programs and products to the customer.
- Developing and maintaining a close working relationship with assigned accounts recognizing trends as they develop.
- Providing each assigned account with sales material, samples and promotional programs.
- Maintaining complete awareness of competitor activities and customer problems making appropriate recommendations and analyzing markets.
- Recommending changes in products, services, policies, etc. on the basis of evaluations and results of competitive developments.
- Preparing annual sales forecast and participating in determining market potential for assigned accounts.
- Other duties as required.

Education/Skills/Knowledge:

Work requires the knowledge of electrical engineering as well as the electronic component industry. An understanding of the Automotive Industry OEM->Tier 1->Tier 2 structure is desirable. The ability to manage time effectively, analyze problems and make sound decisions is necessary. Interpersonal skills, selling skills and negotiating skills are also required.

Some knowledge and experience with the PPAP process is preferred.

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and 3-10 years applicable work experience.

Must be bilingual - English/Japanese.
