This position reports to the Director of Financial Applications for the PROFIT system. Must have experience in application support of hospital business office applications – billing, A/R, collections and follow up, bad debt. Responsible for supporting Cerner Millennium ProFit application. Will also work with Cerner Millennium Person Management(PM) and ProFile(HIM) as well as Charge Services. Hands-on building of functionality, troubleshooting, report writing and general support of hospital business office personnel. Responsible for clinical and/or financial systems/application analysis, design, development, support and maintenance, keeping all assigned applications in optimal performance state at all times. Tests, debugs and documents clinical and/or financial application modifications and upgrades. Formulates and implements functional requirements for customer’s clinical and/or financial processes and business needs. Responsible for implementation of third party software, working with business partners, customer departments and the Company's Technologies staff. Functions as liaison between documentation and literature. Determine alternate approaches to clinical and/or financial issues/workflows and select optimal solutions to these issues/workflows. Work on complex clinical and/or financial problems analyzing and evaluating current business methods and procedures for improvement. Is able to translate system requirements into system deliverables.

Has a clear understanding of how clinical and/or financial systems interrelate with other systems. Ability to analyze the impact to solutions on current process and existing systems. Has full technical knowledge of all phases of application systems analysis. Responsible for customer communication, education and satisfaction. Responsible for quality assurance review. Acts as a project leader for designated projects as assigned. Will work on multiple software applications.


Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field or High School Diploma with 7 yrs experience required.
Master’s degree in IT or related field preferred. 4 yrs experience required.
Cerner experience preferred. SQL/CCL or other programming experience preferred. Strong communications and interpersonal skills, problem solving ability, customer service, ability to manage multiple priorities and follow defined project methodology to meet goals. Ability to program in COBOL, SQL or any related program languages used by BMC. Ability to create and use DCL. Ability to analyze program code and correct logic errors when necessary. Ability to understand applications used and use this knowledge to create programs that meet hospital user business needs. Understanding of, and ability to write programs, using relational databases.
