This is a part-time position of 10-20 hours per week. Using QuickBooks Premier 2008, daily responsibilities will include administrative tasks & processing: AP, AR, bank reconciliation, reconciles/bills travel expense (per diem) reports, month-end reporting and posting journal entries. Compiles and sorts documents, such as invoices and checks, substantiating business transactions. Verifies and posts details of business transactions, such as funds received and disbursed, and totals accounts, using calculator, ten-key adding machine or computer. Computes and records charges, refunds, cost of lost or damaged goods, rentals, and similar items. May type vouchers, invoices, checks, account statements, reports, and other records, using typewriter or computer. S/he must have the ability to work well with all levels of internal management and staff, as well as outside clients and vendors, fielding telephone calls, placing orders for supplies and services, tracking progress/results, filing and data entry. This position has contact in person, by phone and through correspondence in Mexico and the United States. Duties also include supervision of volunteers. This position requires flexibility and the ability to work in a fast-paced non-profit environment.
