Leading Financial Services firm requires senior Application Developer on the Fixed Income Systems Development team in its Technology Solutions Group. This position will report to the Manager – Fixed Income Development, and will be initially involved in integrating a vendor system for the Fixed Income trading business. Additionally, developers are expected to participate in technical development, coding, testing and debugging of any upgrades, extensions, or changes/issues with the trading system. The Development team works within a fast paced and demanding environment that works very closely with its business partners and sponsors.

Business/Technical:

- Proficient with Java, comfortable with other coding languages

- Good expertise with UNIX & LINUX

- Familiarity with capital market products and credit derivatives is an asset

- Familiarity with fixed income systems is an asset

- Familiarity with Bloomberg systems is an asset

- Experience with system architecture and infrastructure

Qualifications:
- 7+ years of software development experience
- 4+ years of Java experience
- 2+ years of SQL experience, preferably Oracle
- Excellent oral and written communication skills. Incumbent must be fluent in English.
- Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with others.
- Aptitude for writing technical descriptions of API's and other programming concepts with a target audience of other software developers.
- Experience creating and documenting scalable and robust client/server or n-tier system design.
- Takes responsibility and accountability for initiatives and decisions; able to convince decision makers

- Ability to exercise independent judgment and creative problem-solving techniques in a highly complex environment, using leading-edge technology to form a coherent, comprehensive, and robust solution.
- Knowledge of the derivatives/trading industry, and derivatives products. - Knowledge/Experience relating to Enterprise Application Integration
