John Deere Harvester is seeking an EMI/EMC Test Engineer to be responsible for JDQ/EMI/EMC (John Deere Quality/Electromagnetic Interference/Electromagnetic Compatibility) testing of individual components as well as full vehicle qualification of the systems. This person will work closely with suppliers, technicians, and outside labs to facilitate the John Deere component and system test procedures. In this position, you will:
Coordinate schedule for all JDQ/EMC/EMI testing for the cab and electrical systems. Be responsible for component testing of all sensors, switches, controllers, actuators, etc. Some testing will be done in house and some will be done at suppliers or outside labs. Work closely with suppliers to bring them up to speed on JDQ/EMC/EMI test procedures. Visit suppliers to ensure tests are being set up and run properly. Document schedule, test procedures, and test results. Track all test activities in V2Net system. Coordinate and manage test stands with outside labs. Coordinate a solution plan by working with supplier and Design/Quality Engineers when components/systems do not pass qualification. Coordinate vehicles to be used for testing.
Education
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or 6+ years of equivalent experience. Required Skills and Experience
2+ years work experience in mechanical and/or electrical systems. Good computer skills. Self motivated. Excellent organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work with multifunctional, cross-cultural, design teams, suppliers, and interface with vehicle design centers. Willing to travel to field test sites, suppliers, or outside labs (estimated 10% travel max). Desired Skills and Experience
Prior vehicle or component test experience highly desirable. Agricultural background is a plus. Prior experience with V2Net or JDQ, EMI, EMC testing is desirable.
