Job Summary:

The Principal Director, Corporate Controller is responsible for the overall financial controls and accounting functions of the Corporation. The Controller is part of the Management Team and participates in setting the strategy and long term plans for the organization. The role has accountability for and oversight and management of the Audit and Accounting function that includes an organization-wide operating budget of $30MM, a team of 10 financial professionals and direct supervision of 5 of those:

• General Accounting
• Audit
• Financial Contracts and Accounts Receivable
• Remote Hub/Consolidation Management
• General Ledger and Systems

Key Areas of Responsibility:

The Controller will be a member of the Management Team. The Controller will also provide input to the Finance, Audit and Investment Committees of the Board. The successful role incumbent will work closely with the CFO, Finance, Audit and Investment Committees of the Board and other Department and Office Heads, particularly with those of Global Programs and Global Investments, to achieve the goals of the organization and ensure the financial stability and smooth and effective functioning of ACCION International. Specific duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Supervise accounting, audit and internal control functions of the Corporation
• Monitor revenue projections in coordination with Global Investments and Resource Development and work gaps;
• Develop and maintains accounting policies and procedures;

Qualifications and Requirements:

• At least 15 years of increasingly responsible financial leadership and management experience in a medium to large-sized global organization.
• Master degree in Business or Public Administration, with appropriate specialization; CPA desired.
• Experience in medium to large accounting integrated platforms like SAP, Hyperion, etc.
• Audit and project accounting experience.
• Multi-company, multi-currency and consolidation expertise.
• Solid experience in leading a diverse and dynamic team of global professionals.
