Works under the supervision of the Senior Director of Acute Care Services, privdes leadership for assigned units (OB, Special Care Nursery, Neonatel Nurse Practitioners) to include 24-hour accountability of operations for: Regulatory compliance, fiscal oversight, resource management, quality of patient care, performance improvement activities, and physican relations. Collaborates with other nursing leasherip to develop and achieve strategic plans. Performs other duties as assigned.

YVMC’s Family Birth Place has broken its delivery records for the past two years, delivering 431 newborns in 2007. Often, mothers are moved to the Medical/Surgical unit for care after their babies arrive due to overcrowding in the current space. This project will double the existing space, allowing us to care for all maternity patients within the Family Birth Place.
