Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field, with at least 2 years related experience in a statistical environment or 4 years of directly related experience in the pharmaceutical industry. A firm understanding of concepts related to study design such as randomization, stratification, and blinding is required. Must have excellent knowledge of basic Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. Advanced knowledge of a statistical graphical software application such as Splus is highly desireable.
Responsibilities:
The Statistician Assistant is responsible for generating allocation schedules for clinical trials conducted in Clinical Biostatistics and Research Decision Sciences (CBARDS) and is a specialist in all aspects of these systems. The incumbent is an expert in all aspects of allocation schedules, from generation to unblinding and storage. The position is considered the primary source of knowledge for all Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS) related activities, is a key member of IVRS teams, and generates multiple schedules for all IVRS studies. The incumbent is also responsible for producing graphs and tables (using Splus) for inclusion in Clinical Study Reports (CSRs), publications and presentations, and retrieving and manipulating data. This position involves interactions with numerous departments to accomplish work objectives and has a lead role in working with departmental statisticians to understand study requirements to prepare allocation schedule requests.
