Position: Software Engineer

Location of job: Pittsburgh, PA area
Duration: Permanent
Education: BS in an engineering discipline is required. MS/PhD engineering/science preferred.
Experience: 8-15 yrs experience with embedded software development and in-depth understanding of low level interfacing, system testing and debugging.

Compensation: $90,000 - $100,000; 10% bonus

Relocation: Available
Responsibilities

Primarily proficient in C language programming.

- Strong working knowledge of structured design, embedded real-time systems and hardware/software interfacing required.

- Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects under independent initiative.

- Demonstrated project leadership experience.

- Motor Control Development experience to include the following:

a) Brushless DC / Permanent Magnet Synchronous 3 Phase fractional horsepower
b) Experience with sensor less Field Oriented Control
c) Knowledge of Space Vector Modulation
d) Experience with different forms of Microprocessors and DSP’s to implement Solutions

The candidate will work with hardware engineers to jointly develop robust designs for reliability as well as safety. The candidate will have a strong understanding of various types of motor drive hardware and be able to understand fully how the hardware design and software will interact.
