Familias Unidas is a proactive community based organization dedicated to delivering quality counseling, advocacy, and information services to the multicultural communities of Contra Costa County emphasizing the Latino community in a culturally relevant and linguistically appropriate way. Our programs include: mental health, education and prevention, youth development, HIV/AIDS services.

In collaboration with, Asian Pacific Psychological Services (APPS) and Contra Costa Mental Health Division, Familias Unidas is hiring staff for the Families Forward Program, to help implement a Full Service Partnership for children ages 0-18 and their families living in Far East Contra Costa County (Brentwood, Oakley, Discovery Bay, Byron and Bethel Island). This program is funded from the Mental Health Services Act (MHSA), (Proposition 63), that California voters passed in November 2004. The MHSA is intended to “transform the public mental health system”. The goal of the MHSA is to create a state-of-the-art, culturally competent system that promotes resiliency for children with serious emotional disorders and their families.

Job Summary
The Transportation Aid will be responsible for transporting children and families with children.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
1. Transport children and children with families, as needed.
2. Participate in staff training modules, as appropriate.
3. Timely completion of all required paperwork regarding clients and services.

Skills:
Minimum Qualifications
1. Age 18 or over.
2. Valid California Driver’s License.
3. Excellent driving record required.
4. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred; alternatively, bilingual English/Khmer or English/Vietnamese.
5. Experience working with emotionally disturbed children preferred.
