This position is accountable for overseeing of the computer based substation equipment maintenance systems including tracking, reporting, and metrics. This includes, but is not limited to, equipment maintenance strategies as defined by the Substation Preferred Practices, standardization of equipment tracking and reporting formats, and apparatus reporting analysis and trending. This position requires closely interfacing with the regional substation manager and operational support General Manager to ensure regional maintenance practices are monitored, tracked, and action plans developed to ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies and FE practices. Must be able to work independently and in unison with others including regional and plant personnel as well as other departments/sections and outside vendors. Compile internal and external benchmark substation data. SAP substation maintenance plans; Ordering Substation parts for Supervisors; Data quality and integrity; Support new substation equipment additions to SAP and SDCS or other substation related systems;
Develop and oversee SAP substation equipment data entry templates and processes; Consistently work to standardize PM and CM system formats and reporting. Must be an innovative thinker and able to act quickly to respond to emergencies and crisis situations. Recommend and/or implement changes in job procedures in order to obtain maximum efficiency and effort.
Work with the Supervisors and Managers, to provide technical reports, metrics, and strategies to ensure compliance with FE practices and procedures. Investigate and review new methodologies, enhance and prolong the life of substation assets.
Work overtime as required. Provides support during storm related activities. Make recommendations on the maintenance/procurement practices. Work safely in the office and the field. The candidate will be required to perform the duties of a supervisor which include being on call and responding to emergencies.

Skills:
Associate degree in Engineering Technology or equivalent as well as specialized training or equivalent work experience.

An advanced level of knowledge and experience in operations, repair and construction of assigned Transmission and Distribution Substations.

Knowledge of applied electricity to include AC and DC electrical circuits and equipment.

Knowledge of Industry preferred practices and methods and the construction standards relating to T&D facilities.

Thorough knowledge of Industry General Safety Specifications, Accident Prevention Handbook, and the clearance and switching control procedures in the System Operations Department Manual of Operations.
