Position Overview: The candidate that fills this position will be taking a key leadership role in design and software development for FIX platform and suite of associated applications. The environment is fast paced, with multiple projects, feeding a strong commitment to drive and maintain E-Trade’s competitive ability in the market place. The candidate will be frequently interacting with other internal groups as well as external organizations, driving solutions to technical and business demands of the projects and leading the team in the implementation of those solutions. The person should be able to manage multiple projects through the lifecycle as an individual contributor or leader.


TECHNICAL SKILLS:

Proficiency in C++, Object Oriented Design/Methodology and Perl
Strong UNIX background.
Strong shell scripting will be plus.
Software development of applications integrating with vendor or home-grown FIX engine.
ESQL/ DB (Sybase, Oracle) skills.
Experience in working with sockets, Roguewave, Multithreaded programming.
Trading System Experience will be a big plus.

QUALIFICATIONS:
At least 5 years of software development experience in related fields
Extensive knowledge of FIX protocol
Excellent knowledge of the large scale real time transaction processing systems
Strong analytical and organizational skills.
Ability to think and adapt new solutions to solve technical and business problems.
Strong design and planning skills.
Strong written and verbal communications skills.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Track record of learning and master new and diverse systems.

EDUCATIONS:
BSCS, BSCE, BSEE or better education
