This position is based out of your home office which must be located near a major airport in the North Eastern part of the US, with a preference of either Chicago, New York or Washington (no relocation assistance provided). You are a chargeable and customer-facing professional with a wide range of expertise from the successful installation and configuration of Absolute products, to training and process development. You will be tasked with project-related activities driving the success of customer deployments of our technology, as well as internal process and materials development to support our services.

Key Responsibilities:

Assisting with customer projects, performing the following kinds of technical tasks:
- Installation and configuration of our products, both server and client
- Trouble-shooting of product installations, ensuring software activation and connectivity
- Working with software deployment technologies, such as imaging or distribution tools
- Configuring data integrations, uploads and exports using a variety of techniques
- Working with associated technologies (including databases, operating systems, networks and security products) to prevent and resolve issues with the operation of our products

Assisting with the following kinds of non-technical tasks:
- Project quality assurance and testing
- Project and system documentation
- Advising on deployment approaches and technical tasks
- Developing and delivering customer, partner and internal training, and materials development (slides for presentation, images for training PC's including data, and student exercises)
- Class delivery (using a web delivered methodology) to students online from remote locations
- In class-room instruction (knowledge transfer to small groups of technical students or colleagues)
Contributing to our corporate's knowledge and best practices by:
- Working closely with Technical Support and Development teams, ensuring project issues are correctly passed to Technical Services and logged
- Helping to capture best practices, either in Professional Services documents, Technical Support knowledge base items or shared documents
- Helping to develop best practices and documentation, whether procedural (e.g. Asset Management) or technical (e.g. installation) providing content to the Documentation team
- Consulting with customers on IT practices as part of an PS project
Assisting PS management with internal activities or programs, such as:
- Methodology development
- Estimating of effort for technical work in PS sales


Education / Qualification Expected:

Experience
- Experience with projects deploying our products preferred but not required
- Experience with software deployment technologies, networks and databases required
- IT project experience required
- Customer-facing consulting experience required

Knowledge and Skills
- Installation and operation of our technology preferred (will be trained)
- Setup and administration skills for operating systems and network domains, preferably MS Windows servers, Active Directory, Mac O/S and Unix preferred
- Installation, configuration, optimization of databases, preferably MS SQL Server required
- SQL syntax and queries expected
- Report-building skills, using tools such as Crystal Reports or MS Reporting Services preferred
- Operation of imaging software and creation and installation of images required
- Installation and configuration of encryption products preferred
- Familiarity with software development concepts expected
- Familiarity with services and IT roll-out project lifecycle expected
- Domain knowledge of Asset Management practices and processes, and security concepts preferred

Other
- Excellent customer-facing skills
- Strong English technical written and verbal communication skills
- Team spirited attitude

Education
- BS/MS in technical field, preferably in Computer Science or MIS
- Ongoing technical training expected, especially in areas of network, security and server administration
