SUMMARY: To monitor and supervise Brink's Home Technology (BHT) field activities to achieve optimum technical productivity and profitability.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Assist the Technical Manager in recruiting, hiring, and supervising all builder technicians. This includes interviewing, training, counseling and disciplinary action in accordance with established company policies and procedures.

* Provide a safe work atmosphere by continuously promoting and enforcing safe working habits, providing proper safety equipment and actively monitoring and reporting branch safety performance.

* Encourage, develop, and monitor technician professional development. Ensure both formal and informal professional feedback and review processes are in place and conducted in a timely manner.

* Provide initial and ongoing technical and safety training for all technicians to include remedial training when required. Maintain all training and safety records on a daily basis to document training and designations/qualifications.

* Issuance and monitoring of all phases of BHT installation and activation activity. This includes returning NSC, builder and other customer calls, coordination and control of all regular and after hours BHT activity.

* Review and approve technicians' time cards to properly reflect hours worked and appropriate cost centers.

* Issue clothing, equipment forms, and other supplies to the technicians. Tracks inventory stock to insure timely ordering and maintenance of proper stocking levels. Keeps stock control forms updated and insures that the stockroom is kept clean, neat and in order. Maintains strict stockroom access control procedures.

* Test suspect equipment and, as appropriate, returns for repair. Maintains and updates defective and repair equipment records.

* Conduct branch and on-site quality inspections of builder work. Inspects technicians for proper attire. Inspects company vehicles to insure that they are neat, clean and maintained in good working order. Assures adherence to safety standards.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree or Associates degree preferred. Minimum of 2 years experience in installation/service of security systems or closely related industry. Prior management experience preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to apply calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in several situations.
