Like all the divisions at SAIF, our Underwriting Division prides itself on providing high quality service to employers and insurance agents throughout the state of Oregon. Time and again, customer surveys confirm that we’re succeeding. Part of that success is due to the effective work of our team of billing representatives who work in Underwriting.

The billing representative applies a high level of knowledge and understanding of laws, regulations, issues, and service requirements for a wide variety of accounts to provide high-level technical services that support SAIF underwriting and policy servicing functions.

Areas of responsibility include:
• Managing a high volume of calls and electronic mail in a call center like environment
~ Collecting past due balances and payroll reports
~ Recommending actions for defaulted accounts
~ Documenting complete and clear records of agreements made or adjustments completed
~ Processing billing and account adjustments
~ Creating billing invoices
~ Acting as a technical resource

Skills:
Interested? If you have a working knowledge of commercial and consumer credit/collections laws, practices, and procedures; experience with customer statement and billing policies and systems; analytical, problem solving, decision-making, and organizational skills; and the ability to identify and resolve issues and explain and remain firm on decisions -- we want to hear from you. An understanding of the principles of insurance and workers’ compensation insurance plans will certainly help, as well.
