Our client located at Bangalore is having an urgent opening for the position of Director Software Engineering – Storage, Kernel. Remuneration will be excellent for the suitable candidate.

Duties and Key Responsibilities

1. DPG, ACSS and VTL development organization in advancing market leadership in backup, mirroring, disaster recovery, archival, compliance, security and virtual tape libraries. The organization currently comprises approximately 100 development and QA engineers which will expand to about 120 engineers within the next 6-9 months. This individual will work cross functionally in developing product roadmaps, lead the development and QA organizations, drive advancements in product quality, and continually drive innovation.

Job Requirement:

1. The ideal candidate must provide engineering leadership to a large software development and QA team developing disk-based data backup, archival, disaster recovery, compliance, security s/w and VTL
2. Must have ability to develop a roadmap which continues to maintain market leadership in these segments.
3. Able to manage all aspects of software product lifecycle from requirements definition through development, validation, release and sustaining engineering support.
4. Collaborate with distributed cross-organizational teams, partner companies, and external vendors, as appropriate, to bring high quality product releases to market on time in a predictable manner.
5. The technologies include Data ONTAP kernel software, file system extensions for data protection, NDMP extensions, Nearline software, Virtual Tape Libraries s/w, security encryption s/w and related software.
6. A minimum of 7 to10 years of experience as a people manager is required.
