Location can be based at any one of their major locations. Excellent compensation and benefit package provided! Company is employee owned. Will pay all, or portion, of relocation and interview travel.
REQUIREMENTS:
•Current Top Secret security clearance is required.
•Experience with RS Means process is required.
•B.S. in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Construction plus 8 years or equivalent experience in design/build estimating is required. M.S. Degree is a plus.
•7-10 yrs experience preferred.
Certification: Professional Engineering license is desired. Certified Cost Consultant, Certified Cost Engineer, Certified Estimating Professional from Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineers, International; and / or Certified Professional Estimator from the Association of Professional Estimators is desired.
Job Description: (may be modified to fit your specific position. Should include Specific Responsibilities & Other Special Requirements) The Sr. Estimator shall use the department's standards and guidelines to prepare 0% design, con-ceptual, Rough Order of Magnitude Estimates; 35% to 65% design Semi-Detailed Estimates; 90%+ design Detailed Estimates; and Basis of Estimate documentation. Detailed Estimates shall be of fixed price rigor and granularity. Prepare conceptual scoping / "redlining" using sketches or General Arrangement drawings and quantity take-off of engineered drawings.
The Sr. Estimator shall use expert judgment to interpret scope of work statements, specifications, drawing conflicts, ambiguities, uncertainties; other direct and indirect cost and prepare the WBS format. Perform site walks and comply with Weston safety procedures. Prepare estimating reports. Uses expert judgment to interpret codes & standards, design processes, specifications and drawings. Maintains files of current estimates, unit price information, supplies quotations for costs of construction materials, and market conditions. Contacts suppliers and vendors for current prices and delivery.
Advises and collects information from other departments on any items pertinent to the development of complete estimates. Evaluates construction bids for completeness and accuracy and makes recommendations to responsible parties for the award of construction contracts. Completes estimates according to time and proposal budget constraints.
Reviews all available client-bidding documents to become familiar with all commercial and technical requirements before preparing the estimate. Provides cost consultation to clients, project managers, and engineers. Prepare, or assist in the evaluation of, contractor quotations and change orders.
